There are so many ways you can improve your guitar and here at MGR we will do everything we can to help you make the right
choices to modify, update and improve your existing instrument.
If you have an acoustic guitar you can improve the tone and volume considerably by investing in better bridge pins (you won’t
believe how much more projection you can achieve with brass pins!). Or maybe just a strap pin will make life easier. Or how about
an active under saddle piezo pickup?
The most obvious upgrade on an electric is better pickups. We have accounts with all the major manufacturers and can help you find
the tone you’re looking for. Or how about a custom wiring job to find that Strat tone on your Gibson? Or a Roland hexaphonic GK
pick up to drive a synth? Better machine heads? Or how about a customised decal on your headstock?
We can convert your bass to a fretless or install an active EQ system. Get in touch with us - we can do it!
Here’s an interesting upgrade - a Roland pickup installed in a Line6 Variax 700! The ultimate virtual guitar. Two big challenges - get
all the wiring into the existing cavity and recess fit the new controls (a volume control and 2 switches) to the carved top. Came out a
treat!
MGR now supplies and fits the stunning Fernandes Sustainer - infinite sustain and harmonics from your guitar at the flick of a
switch...and at low levels. Great for studio or live work -
read all about it here. We can install a complete package in your guitar from
£320.
We’re now using and recommending for our premium set ups wonderful hand made British strings from
Newtone Strings. These
competitively priced strings are wound on round rather than hexagonal cores which gives a silky, more flexible string which tunes to
a lower tension than conventional strings enabling your guitar to benefit from the volume and tone of a higher gauge string without
the fatigue. Great for players with hand and joint problems - extends your playing life!
We are now fitting the incredible StetsBar tremolo systems which are available as retro-fit for Gibson, Fender Strat & Tele style
guitars - competitive pricing and a trem system that looks great and performs great!
